A sweet Victorian style Claddagh ring set with a deep purple amethyst heart in the centre (approx. 0.30ct) with a crown on top and two clasped hands on either side that join the band.
The Claddagh ring originated in Ireland in the 1700s and depicts two hands clasped around a heart with a crown on top. The symbol represented friendship, love and loyalty, as in the old Irish saying, “With these hands, I give you my heart and crown it with my love”.
The piece is crafted in silver and gilded in 18ct yellow gold. It’s very pretty and would make a perfect gift for a loved one.
